PHOTOS: The White House鈥檚 East Wing in history

These photos show archival images of the White House East Wing, which houses several offices, including those of the first lady. It was built in 1942.

The White House started tearing down a part of it to build President Donald Trump鈥檚 $250 million ballroom.
