WASHINGTON 鈥� Some residents of a Maryland apartment complex who were forced to temporarily move just one week before Thanksgiving were being allowed back into their apartments Tuesday
People who live in about 25 units at The Villages of Gaithersburg were forced to clear out last Thursday after a serious, unexpected electrical problem was discovered and power had to be shut off.
A representative for the complex told 草莓传媒 a generator was used to restore temporary power, and residents were cleared to start moving back in at about 4:30 p.m., right after a city inspection.
The complex has been paying for the affected residents to stay in a hotel, and they have the option to stay there one more night if they want.
A representative told 草莓传媒 earlier the emergency repairs would cost more than $100,000 to make. It’s not clear yet how long it will take to make permanent repairs.
