It's still too early to break out the shorts and sandals, but music festivals across the country have already released lineups and tickets.
The one-day festival is a short walk from the Congress Heights Metro station on the Green Line. Now in its fifth year, the lineup has grown considerably: Solange and rap duo Rae Sremmurd lead the pack with support from British duo Alunageorge, Lil Yachty and the D.C. area’s very own talent Chaz French.
But it’s not just about music: The festival’s founders also strive to promote health, community and environmental sustainability so the run up to May 6 includes a 5K run, a conference and聽an art pop up.

With a new location at the Harvard Athletic Complex, this year’s festival聽has apparently “more than doubled its typical offering,” . The xx, Bon Iver, Major Lazer, Chance the Rapper, Majid Jordan, Car Seat Headrest and many more are slated to play, sure to draw audiences across all genres.
For those looking for something more visual, there will be a film side to the festival with Harvard alum Natalie Portman curating its first “film experience.”

For three days, festival-goers fill Randall’s Island Park to scarf down food from the assortment of food trucks,聽look at art, play lawn games and see huge music acts,聽such as Tool, Wu-Tang Clan, Childish Gambino and Lorde. So if you’re not impatiently waiting by the stage for the next act to come on, there’s always something to do.

If you want that Full Festival Experience鈩�, Firefly has a campground location and offers tent camping, “glamping” and RV camping. The campground will have a farmers market, food trucks and activities such as morning yoga or beach volleyball.
Don’t forget the major lineup with music heavyweights Bob Dylan and Muse, and radio favorites The Weeknd, Twenty One Pilots, Kesha and Tory Lanez. Festival organizers call their three-day event 聽Firefly’s promoter is also behind Coachella and the next pick, Panorama in New York City.

Also at Randall’s Island Park, this festival returns with an even more impressive lineup: Nine Inch Nails, A Tribe Called Quest, Frank Ocean, Tame Impala, Alt-J and also, Solange. WASHINGTON 鈥� It’s still too early to break out the shorts and sandals, but warm-weather music festivals across the country have already released lineups and tickets.
And while storied California festival Coachella has its tickets and boasts major headliners with Beyonc茅, Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar, there are plenty of festivals along the Atlantic with impressive acts and tickets still available.
In fact, one such festival resides right within the Capital Beltway.
No need to get on a plane 鈥� just catch a bus or train to get to these music-heavy events.
