WASHINGTON — A Pennsylvania waitress has completed school, become a nurse and now is on her way to earning a master’s degree, thanks to a customer’s tip.
According to this feel-good story on the , Cracker Barrel customer Benjamin Olewine III told Melissa Manier to hand over all her bills for nursing school. She did, and graduated. The cost was $30,000.
It turns out the low-key Olewine is a millionaire, and philanthropist and wanted to give his friendly waitress a chance to succeed. Manier is now a registered nurse at PinnacleHealth’s Community General Osteopathic Hospital.
