Washington Nationals unveil District Blueprint uniforms featuring cherry blossoms to kick off 20th anniversary season

Standing alongside infielder Ryan Zimmerman (aka “Mr. National”), D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser unveiled a new Washington Nationals City Connect uniform to a crowd outside of Nationals Park on Sunday.

The new uniforms 鈥 rightfully named District Blueprint 鈥 feature a baby blue jersey and cap sporting a stylized block 鈥淲鈥 surrounding an outline of the Capitol Dome, framed on either side by the famed cherry blossoms.

The whole thing is complemented with a patch featuring a 鈥淲鈥 over a tile background inspired by the city’s architectural landmarks, including the Capitol rotunda and Metro stations.

A 3D interlocking D.C. logo on the jersey鈥檚 chest nods to the 1956 Washington Senators logo, while mosaic detailing on the white pants celebrates the diverse community of D.C., according to the team.

鈥淚 think these uniforms truly are for the people of D.C.,鈥 Zimmerman said. 鈥淭hey represent how baseball has become part of the fabric of this city, how the city’s energies run through our veins, and how baseball has the power to bring everyone together.鈥

The Nationals will wear the District Blueprint uniforms for the first time on March 29 and March 30 against the Philadelphia Phillies, with the new look featured during home games on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the 2025 season.

Special will also circulate in D.C., beginning April 14.
